Tekla Structure Issue: how to export elements as solids?
This has been covered before on the forum.
It really depends on what program you're going to be importing it into.
For example, if you were importing to mechanical desktop or a similar program, you would export the model (or parts of the model) as an xml file. Then using the Tekla Structures file converter (found on the extranet site) you can convert that xml file to a STEP file (or IGES). From there, you need to use a third party program (I use Transmagic) and convert the step file. Then after it's converted, you save it as a dwg file and import that file into wherever you like, and it will be solid.
It's a bit of a process, but worth it if you need a solid/accurate representation of the model.
