Tekla Structure Issue: some tips for working in multi-user

Multi-user Rules FOR MODELLING:

Do not open the same model in Single and Multi user mode at the same time. This
will cause a major problem in the database.

Numbering and Drawing creation are to be performed on one designated system
only (server machine).

Ensure that no two users are working on the same area on a project.
Never “Save as” the model when it is in multi user mode. If a copy of the model is
needed all users must exit the model. The model is then opened in single user
mode and now it can be used as “Save as”. Once saved, exit Tekla Structures to
re-open the model in multi user mode.

Do not have the Tekla Structures server running on the same machine as where
the models are stored.

Once the drawings are created on the server machine, then they can be opened as
normal on the remote machines (Secondary systems).

During numbering of the model, all the remote users have to save the model, and
then the server will perform the numbering operation. After numbering is
completed, the server then saves the model and then the remote machines save.
If multi-user server is suddenly closed/crashed …..Don’t panic…
Just restart the server & press save

SOME TIPS FOR DRAWINGS

Drawings should be allocated in ranges to each person
Ensure that no two persons are allotted the same drawing set.
Assembly drawings- generation should be in single user mode, after the
drawings are generated; it can be allocated to many users.
The drawings should not be opened at the same time by two persons
